Scotland Through a Photographer’s Eyes
A few days around Broughty Ferry and Dundee has been a great reminder that you don’t have to go looking for a photograph. Sometimes you simply need to slow down and look.
Broughty Ferry has a wonderful mix of coastline, harbour views, boats, reflections and changing light. For a photographer, it is the kind of place where you can walk around with a camera and continually find something interesting to frame.
Even when I’m on holiday, I’m still looking at the light, composition, colour, reflections and the small details that can turn an ordinary scene into an image worth keeping.
This little yellow boat sitting in the bay, with its reflection in the water, caught my eye. Simple, colourful and very Scottish.
For me, photography is never really switched off. It is simply part of how I see the world.
To photograph: it is to put on the same line of sight the head, the eye and the heart
